Tyumen State Universit (TSU) students have petitioned to form an official SPE Student Chapter, the second one in Tyumen. As the head of the initiative group and the leader of the future TSU Student Chapter, Tair Esenbayev was in charge of the formation process and communication with SPE representatives.
TSU Student Chapter will be helping university students learn more about the industry through networking with leading oil & gas and service company representatives, encouraging the exchange of ideas and information and various SPE programms and resources.
TSU students had a great opportunity to meet SPE President Jeff Spath who came to Tyumen as a part of his visit to Russia. Mr. Spath had a meeting with Deputy Director of Research in TSU Andrey Viktorovich Tolstikov during which they discussed the perspectives for further cooperation between TSU and SPE. Then Dr. Tolstikov demonstrated to Jeff Spath unique laboratories and equipment: supercomputer named after famous Russian scientist Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev, laboratory for creation of nanoobjects "Nanofab-100" and brand new chemical laboratories.
Moreover, Jeff Spath supported TSU students` initiative to create SPE Student Chapter and wished good luck to the chapter`s leader Tair Esenbayev.
