Society of Petroleum Engineers

SPE is a not-for-profit professional association whose members are engaged in energy resources development and production. SPE is a key resource for technical knowledge related to the oil and gas exploration and production industry and provides services through publications, events, training courses and online resources at SPEorg. Income from SPE events and services are invested back into SPE to support many other Society's programs.
SPE joins together more than 156,000 members in 154 countries who participate in 203 sections and 383 university chapters. SPE’s membership includes more than 72,000 student members.
Taking into account the leading position and vigorous development of Russia and Caspian Region in the oil and gas industry, in 2007 SPE decided to open the representative office in Moscow. A little later, in 2008 Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan were set apart as the separate Region. The opening of SPE’s Moscow office marked international recognition of the importance of the Russian oil and gas industry. 
There are 25 SPE Sections in our region, in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. There have been set up 36 Student Chapters under the auspices of the regional specialised universities.
